Economists who perfectly predicted medal hauls in 2000 Olympics set to try again - This is a very interesting article showing the predictive power through known variables without even factoring in "important" variables - such as the BMI or athletes, or their reflex measures, or anything like that. The variables used: Per capita GDP (Real), Population, and halo effects for host nations and for past successes - with GDP being the most important variables. Wrock on, Stats!@$
